аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ is committed to being a good neighbor. We recognize that university-community engagement enriches scholarship and research, enhances teaching and learning, and prepares an engaged workforce. The аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Office of Community Engagement provides support for faculty, students, staff, and community members working to build mutually beneficial relationships between аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ and the community that contribute to the public good. Our areas of focus include service learning, volunteerism, and community-engaged research, scholarship, and internships.

Volunteerism and Service Learning with South Serves

аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to volunteer and serve in our community by using , the Office of Community Engagement’s online volunteer portal, to:

  • Respond and volunteer for the needs, or service opportunities, of community organizations throughout the region
  • Manage a service learning course or experience
  • Participate and track volunteer hours for a service learning course, student organization, major, or scholarship 
  • Explore to learn more about agencies and organizations with which to volunteer or seek an internship
  • Post events and opportunities for community service or volunteering with community agencies, campus departments or programs, and student organizations
